Litchfield Distillery Represents Connecticut in Lost Lantern’s United States of Bourbon

Litchfield Distillery is proud to represent Connecticut in Lost Lantern’s United States of Bourbon, a historic whiskey release created to showcase the remarkable breadth and diversity of bourbon being made across the country.

The project brings together straight bourbons from all 50 states, with one distillery selected to represent each state. Lost Lantern describes it simply and powerfully: “Fifty States. Fifty Distilleries. One Bourbon.” In addition to the 50-state blend, Litchfield Distillery is also included in Lost Lantern’s special 1776 Edition, a limited-edition blend of straight bourbon whiskies from the first 13 states.

We first met the Lost Lantern team in 2023 when they visited Litchfield Distillery. Our collaboration on the United States of Bourbon and 1776 projects is our first project together, and we’re honored to be part of such an ambitious release.

The selection process was collaborative. We sent Lost Lantern several samples of our 5-Year Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey, and their team selected the final barrel to include in the blend.

“To us, the real beauty of this project is that it’s not about any one distillery standing apart,” said David Baker, Litchfield Distillery Co-Partner. “It’s about each of us contributing something distinct to a larger American bourbon story — one where the final blend becomes greater than the sum of its parts.”

They’ve worked tirelessly for several years to bring this ambitious vision to life, and we’re proud to be part of it.
