Litchfield Distillery earns three medals at San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

For the second year in a row, Litchfield Distillery won medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for our Batchers’ Gin, Vodka and Bourbon Whiskey. All three spirits are CT-Grown and distilled 100% at our Litchfield Distillery operation in Litchfield, Connecticut.

The competition is billed as the most respected and influential spirits competition in the world, with more than 2,253 submissions in a four-day tasting process. The 2017 SFWSC was the second time we entered this competition and the first we included our Batchers’ Vodka.

“The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the most influential in the industry and winning a medal here is very meaningful,’ said competition director Anthony Dias Blue. “We have the industry’s most respected experts serving as judges, and every entry is blind-tasted under highly focused conditions. There is no better way to discern quality and identify trends.”

Batchers’ Vodka was honored with its first ever medal, a silver. Our vodka is distilled with CT-grown corn from Lion Rock Farm in Sharon. We distill it 4 ¾ times followed by a gravity-fed filtering process that produces an exceptionally smooth vodka. Because our Batchers’ Vodka is distilled from corn, it is gluten free.

Our Batchers’ Gin took home a silver medal for the second year in a row. We use select botanicals, masterfully balanced to create our gin. Batchers’ Gin showcases a taste profile that is slightly sweet and citrusy but retains that classic juniper signature gin lovers expect.

Our Batchers’ Straight Bourbon Whiskey earned a bronze medal this year in a crowded field. After just a few years of being in business, we’re thrilled our homegrown Connecticut bourbon is able to garner recognition on this level. We’re excited to compete at next year’s event!
