Litchfield Distillery 2019 Holiday Release Announced!
At the end of each year, it is tradition for Litchfield Distillery to release an extra special bottle and gift-box set to celebrate the holiday season and beyond. This year, we’re excited to offer a fantastic 10.5-Year Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey.
This bourbon drinks exceptionally smooth, even at a higher 108 proof. The powerful nose is only a hint of the lush caramel and vanilla notes that will follow on the palette. Each sip reveals nuanced flavors of brown spices, toasted oak and butterscotch.

We offer this bottle in a special gift box, which includes a branded wood box, one bottle of the 10.5 Year Bourbon, two rocks glasses, and our note card. The set is available for purchase at the Distillery for $99.95 as well as several retail locations that carry Litchfield Distillery spirits.

We often get asked how we can offer such an aged spirit when we’ve only been open for five years. Here’s the backstory. Six years ago when we were in the startup phase for the distillery, our consultant Donald Snyder, formerly of Buffalo Trace, called us with an opportunity to buy 250 barrels of six-year-old bourbon from MGP. We decided to grab all 250 barrels and have them shipped to Litchfield. By the time we opened our doors, this bourbon was eight-years-old and used to bottle our Double-Barreled Bourbon (now bottled at 10 years) and Port Cask Finished Bourbon, along with holiday releases from past years. After five years, the original 250 barrels will soon be depleted, meaning this will be our last special release featuring our aged MGP bourbon.
In addition to the aged bourbons noted above, Litchfield Distillery has been distilling and aging our own CT-Grown and CT-Made bourbons since day one! Our core lineup includes our Straight Bourbon along with its Cask Strength sister, Vanilla Bourbon, Coffee Bourbon, Cinnamon Bourbon, Maple Bourbon and our new 4-year Port Cask Finish Bourbon bottled at 90 proof. Our local bourbons have won prestigious awards from New York City to San Francisco, including “Best Spirit/Bourbon Line” for the past three years by Connecticut Magazine.
