Litchfield Distillery 10th Anniversary Founders’ Reserve

LITCHFIELD DISTILLERY CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY WITH RELEASE OF LIMITED FOUNDERS’ RESERVE 7-YEAR BOURBON

LITCHFIELD, CT – In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Litchfield Distillery proudly announces the release of a limited-edition 7-year Bourbon Whiskey under its prestigious Founders’ Reserve appellation. This release marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the distillery has offered a Connecticut-Grown Bourbon Whiskey with a seven-year age statement. Founders’ Reserve is a special sub-brand, reserved exclusively for extraordinary releases that earn unanimous approval from all three co-owners and brothers: David, Jack, and Peter Baker.

The bourbon is distilled from a mash bill of 70% non-GMO corn, 25% winter rye, and 5% malted barley, all sourced from local Connecticut farms. After aging for seven years in new American oak casks, it is bottled at 100 proof, exemplifying the craftsmanship and quality that have repeatedly earned Litchfield Distillery the title of “Connecticut Distillery of the Year” at the New York International Spirits Competition.

“It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached the 10-year mark,” said Jack Baker, co-owner of Litchfield Distillery. “The time has flown by, but we’ve accomplished so much since opening our doors in 2014. This release is a tribute to our journey and a thank you to the loyal customers who have supported us along the way.”

Aging for seven years resulted in a significant angel’s share, creating a rich and full-bodied whiskey. “There’s a lush quality to this bourbon that we believe folks will really enjoy,” said David Baker. “The nose offers inviting notes of butterscotch, vanilla, and a hint of apple, which continue on the palate, along with cinnamon and toasted baking spice.”

This special anniversary release is presented in a custom-designed wood gift box, which includes a commemorative 10th-anniversary Glencairn glass and a note card for gifting. It will be available for purchase at Litchfield Distillery and select Connecticut retailers, with a suggested retail price of $89.95 (+ tax).

“Our rickhouse is currently home to over 1,600 barrels, making it the largest craft distillery barrel-storage facility in Connecticut,” added Peter Baker, co-owner of Litchfield Distillery. “This Founders’ Reserve 7-Year Bourbon represents our commitment to creating exceptional spirits, and we hope our fans will enjoy it as much as we do. We’re excited for what’s to come as we continue releasing more mature bourbons in the years ahead.”

A list of Connecticut retailers carrying the 10th Anniversary Bourbon will be posted on Litchfield Distillery’s blog and social media platforms as soon as it becomes available.
