Litchfield Distillery Earns Gold!

Litchfield Distillery Bourbons earn gold medals.

The Fifty Best recently hosted a bourbon tasting where 46 contenders were evaluated for the distinguished “Best Bourbon Whiskey” awards for 2019.

Litchfield Distillery is pleased to announce that their Batchers’ Straight Bourbon Whiskey — Cask Strength and Batchers’ Straight Bourbon Whiskey won Double Gold and Gold Medals respectively. Each spirit is Connecticut Made: distilled and aged in Litchfield, Connecticut from local grains including corn and rye from nearby Lion Rock Farm.

Both bourbons are “straight” meaning they have rested for no less than two years. The Distillery’s primary Straight Bourbon is currently aged for 2.5 years, while the Cask Strength variety has aged for 3 years.

“We’re very proud of our Connecticut-made bourbons,” said David Baker, Co-Founder of Litchfield Distillery. “Since we sample so much at the Distillery and events, we know our consumers really enjoy it. These gold medals from The Fifty Best are gratifying because it’s nice to know folks in the industry think highly of our craftsmanship, too.”
