A SPECIAL CONNECTION

The metal Litchfield Distillery signs that adorn the outside walls of our building were made by someone special—Sam Kusack, who just happens to be the son-in-law of Batcher Jack Baker.Sam has a great story. He founded Kammetal in 2001, which is a full-service metal fabrication company specializing in the field of architectural and ornamental metals. When Sam started the business, he was the sole employee. Today, Kammetal employs 30 employees in Brooklyn, NY and serves architects, designers and builders. Most notably, Sam’s company was subcontracted to build the Freedom Tower’s top 40-foot spire! His team created an engineered solution and managed the project to procure the fabrication and installation of 7 tons of stainless steel and glass to form the beacon enclosure. This was no easy job but they executed brilliantly—talk about The Spirit of Hard Work!

We’re proud of Sam’s accomplishments and proud to have a small example of his work here at Litchfield Distillery. You can learn more about Kammetal by visiting their website.
