Special Father’s Day Release: 6-Year Bourbon Whiskey
Litchfield Distillery, Connecticut’s leading craft distillery, proudly unveils a very limited release of its first-ever six-year bourbon whiskey to celebrate Father’s Day.
Crafted from Connecticut-grown grains – 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% malted barley – this bourbon showcases the terroir of the Nutmeg State and the hard work of its farmers. Distilled and aged for six years in new oak barrels, the result is a smooth and complex bourbon with lush flavors to savor from nose to palate to finish. Bottled at 99 proof, it is a true expression of Litchfield Distillery’s craftsmanship and dedication to quality.
To make this release even more special, Litchfield’s six-year bourbon comes in a branded Father’s Day wood gift box that includes a 750ml bottle, a Glencairn glass, and a note card to write a special message to dad. This is the perfect gift for any bourbon enthusiast, especially for those who want to honor their hard-working father.
“We are thrilled to share our first-ever six-year bourbon whiskey with the world and recognize such a meaningful occasion like Father’s Day,” said Jack Baker, Co-Founder of Litchfield Distillery. “Our Connecticut-grown bourbon is unique and flavorful, with amazing vanilla, caramel, and spicy notes that only come with time and dedication to our craft. We are confident that our bourbon can stand up to any other bourbon in the country.”
Litchfield’s six-year bourbon is a single-barrel release, which means it is unblended with other Litchfield Distillery barrels. The gift box features bourbon from cask #1599, which was filled on February 28, 2017. Bourbon aficionados appreciate single-barrel selections because they can provide unique flavor characteristics based on how the bourbon ages, which can be influenced by temperature, evaporation, unique properties of the oak staves, and even agitation created by changing the location of the barrel in the rickhouse over the years.
“The cask we chose for the Father’s Day release had a fair amount of angel’s share, or portion that evaporated, which yielded a nicely concentrated and complex flavor profile in the remaining juice,” continued Baker. “It is packed with amazing notes and has all of us at the distillery very excited for the future as our 1,300+ barrels of bourbon continue to mature.”
The Father’s Day Gift Box set will be offered on a very limited basis, with only 250 bottles in distribution by Slocum & Sons, Litchfield Distillery’s Connecticut distributor. This special offering will be available at Litchfield Distillery and select liquor stores in the state while supplies last. The suggested retail price for the gift box is $89.95.
