The New-England-Winter

Holiday Cocktail Inspiration

We recently visited Mixology Spirit guest, Stevie Sacco, at her Southbury, CT establishment, Bevy Co to see what kind of craft cocktails she’s serving up for the holidays. We’re glad we made the trip. Check out these amazing libations!

Sicilian Christmas

The Sicilian Christmas may not look like a traditional holiday cocktail. But, Stevie found inspiration from her Italian roots for this one and explained it is designed to accompany all the antipasto that is a fixture of her family’s holiday gatherings. It’s made with 4 ounces of Parmesan-Washed Litchfield Distillery Vodka. Stir it in ice, then strain into a martini glass with a black pepper rim. Garnish with a piece of parmesan cheese and cherry pepper. The parmesan wash may sound strange, but trust us, it works. It smooths out the mouthfeel in an amazing way with a very subtle sharpness from the cheese. Inspired to try it? Here’s an article that explains “how to wash.”

December Bubbly

The December Bubbly is a festive holiday cocktail brought to life by frozen cranberries in the base of the coupe glass. Simply prepare in advance by filling the glass with a few cranberries and water, then freeze. Add 1 ounce of Litchfield Distillery Vodka and 1/2 ounce of Allspice Dram to a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into glass, then fill remainder of glass with a dry prosecco. The cranberries will stay frozen on the base of the glass for quite some time!

The New England Winter

If you’re looking for a comforting warm cocktail to sip this holiday season, the New England Winter is delicious choice. Combine 1.5 ounces of Litchfield Distillery Straight Bourbon and 3/4 ounce of blackstrap molasses and pine syrup. Add to mug then fill remainder with freshly-made drip coffee. Top with whipped cream and drizzle blackstrap molasses on top. Garnish with small pine cones for the perfect finishing touch.
