Nice to meet you!

We’re Jack, Peter, and David Baker, brothers and co-owners of Litchfield Distillery. We grew up in the water-bottling business; for three generations, our family produced the crisp, clear water called Crystal Rock. With firsthand experience of what it takes to operate a family-owned business and a taste for good drink, we decided to launch Litchfield Distillery back in 2014. Ten years later, we’re proud to be recognized as Connecticut’s premiere craft distillery.

How did we get here? Well, we believe the only way to achieve something great is to roll up your sleeves and do the work greatness takes. That’s why everything we do at Litchfield Distillery revolves around The Spirit of Hard Work®. Our Philosophy

One day, we looked around at our beautiful rolling hills and said, “Boy, wish we could bottle this.” So we did.

Inspired by the bucolic landscape of Northwest Connecticut, our commitment is to distill the finest spirits in small batches, sourcing the best ingredients our local farmers have to offer.

And the taste of that commitment can be found in every sip of our award-winning spirits and ready-to-drink cocktails. We are meticulous in every detail of our process and take care to reduce our environmental footprint.

What Makes Us Unique

  • Our bourbon and rye whiskey are distilled from Connecticut-grown grains. Our New England climate and mineral-rich terroir produce luscious, sweet corn, spicy rye and nutty malted barley.
  • Bourbon Whiskey Mash Bill: 70% corn, 25% rye, 5% malted barley. Straight Rye Whiskey Mash Bill: 70% winter rye, 30% malted barley.
  • We practice slow distillation, which enables us to create precise separation of different components during distillation to make clean cuts and respect the temperature during the gathering of the distillates.
  • Our spirits are non-chilled filtered to deliver a more robust flavor profile, exceptional aroma and a smoother finish.
  • When it comes to sustainability, we walk the talk. We generate nearly 100% of our electricity from 174 solar panels installed on the distillery roof. All our spent mash returns to farms for livestock feed. Retired bourbon barrels get re-purposed for finishing projects with local breweries, wineries and coffee roasters.
