Important: Summer Road Closure on Rt. 202

IMPORTANT ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION FOR DISTILLERY VISITORS!

A bridge construction project in Bantam—about 1.5 miles west of the Distillery—will require a closure of Route 202 for much of the summer.

The closure will run from Monday, June 16, 2025, through Sunday, August 31, 2025. Eastbound traffic on Route 202 heading toward Litchfield will be detoured via Route 47 South, to Route 109 East, to Route 209 North. Please take this into consideration when calculating your travel time as the detour adds an additional 3.5 miles to the route.

Please Note:

The detour begins approximately 7 miles from the Distillery. Watch for signs directing you to Route 47 South as you enter Washington, CT.

Rt. 202 is only closed near the Still Brook Bridge area. The orange line on the map does not mean road closure (businesses along that section are accessible). It is meant to reinforce that drivers need to be ready to detour well in advance of the distillery.

Pay attention to posted speed limits. There is a permanent speed trap installed on Rt. 109 that automatically tickets speeding cars.

For up to date detour information, please visit the State of CT’s DOT page.
