Litchfield Distillery proudly announces the release of New 5-Year Double-Barreled Bourbon Whiskey. This super-premium bourbon is 100% CT-Made and distilled from 100% CT Grains.
We took our award-winning Straight Bourbon Whiskey, bottle proofed it to 90 (45% alc./vol.) and re-barreled it to expose the proofing water to the barrel’s char. This extra step invites more flavor development, especially with sweet aromatic flavors of caramel, butterscotch and vanilla, which you’ll pick up on the nose and palette. In addition, you’ll enjoy fruit and floral notes along with clove and cinnamon spice.
“We’ve been looking forward to this release for a long time,” said David Baker, Co-Owner. “When we first started distilling spirits we often wondered how our bourbon would evolve as it aged longer. Well, now we know and we’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved with this bottle. We believe bourbon fans across the country are going to enjoy it.”
Litchfield Distillery’s bourbon mash bill consists of 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley. We believe Connecticut’s mineral-rich terroir contributes to growing exceptional grains and luscious, sweet corn and is part of our “secret sauce.” We also age in number 4 charred barrels to invite more spice and smokey notes.

Note: This new 5-year double-barrel expression replaces our 10-Year Double-Barreled Bourbon, which is completely sold out at the distillery.
