The Waterbury Regional Chamber recently hosted the 2020 Harold Webster Smith Awards where Litchfield Distillery was honored with the Small Business of the Year Award. The event, now in its 23rd year, celebrates the legacy of Harold Webster Smith who founded First Federal Savings of Waterbury, which eventually became Webster Bank.
“We’ve put in a lot of sweat and hard work into building this business,” said co-owner David Baker. “It’s tremendously gratifying to receive an award like this, especially when it’s from an organization we know well and respect.”
Litchfield Distillery recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. Since it’s launch, the company has quickly secured its position as Connecticut’s largest craft distillery with roughly 1,000 retail and on-premise locations in Connecticut. The brand can also be found in New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Illinois.
The Distillery’s diverse line up of bourbons, vodkas and gins have won awards and accolades from London to New York to San Francisco, including Distillery of the Year by the New York International Spirits Competition for 2018 and 2019.
